Has anybody run the Goodyear G90 tire?

I've got an opportunity to "locally" purchase a set of five new Wolf NATO Wheels with new Goodyear G-90s - 7.5x16 - for $125 each. The little bit of info out there says these are European military tires – 31.64 inch diameter with a narrow (7 1/2") tread – very good snow and mud tires. They're advertised as Defender takeoffs. I'm lifted and trimmed, and have been waiting to upgrade the original sized tires – I'll make them fit.

My main concern is this –
Will this size tire, 7.5 x 16, which is almost an inch narrower than 215-85-16, have me shimmying all over the road?
Will they need to be a set of dedicated off roaders?

Also, if you've used them, what is your opinion of their off-road performance?

Thanks.
Steve

My Series III had Goodyear G-90s on it when it arrived in the US. They were decent tires but I could not find them again and when they were worn out I went to a different brand. They are like XZLs in that regard, good tires but made of unobtainium and therefore I would probably get something that I could replace after you rip a hole in the sidewall or wear them out.

Dedicated off roaders? Prolly! No wet weather grip with the suckas.....especially if you're in Michigan! But built to take on the off roading you'll do on the main highways in this state.....

I had a look at them too - based on reports from UK folks using them, great off-road - death on skates on wet roads at speed. You can get some direct opinions at www.difflock.co.uk which is a nice multi-brand forum...
