Great Idea, Now Who's With Me?

Can someone set up a state-by-state or regional calander that shows who's wheeling and where so that we can get groups of people togeather instead of finding out shit was last week or last month?

Not all of us can keep up with this stuff. I'm in NYC and theres not much wheeling within 10 miles if you know what I mean. If theres a trip, spot or night ride under the rope or through the back yard, we should let each other know better than this.

I built up this 10 mpg thing and so far my 50/50 tires are working overtime on asphalt.

Can I get dirty now please?

There are about 100 or so done up trucks within 100 miles of me and I know 15 of them personally and two of them actually go wheeling on any frequence (Shout out to John C).

I have several spots to wheel but the problem is a lot of the time, I go last minute or with less than 24 hours notice. Can we set up a Exchange Server or Cell phone text message push if someone is going wheeling within 50 miles or so?

I have several T1 lines in my office and lots of unused servers, who wants to donate some time? I'll provide hardware, software, internet connectivity and the office space for this stuff.

I would love to go, damn it! Thinking about flying down and renting one from enterprise or something. They sell the full insurance there, right?

SERIOUSLY, though - lets set up that calander. I have some experience and would be willing to help. Craig, lemme know.

On the User CP line there is a "calendar".. You could always just put it in there and include the state/area the trail ride is in..

Lets do a text message push server. I know you can set those up easily enough as they are all over the web like from ebay and espn and the like.

That actually would be the best and most direct way as you could easily just get a text on your phone and then it's "Hey honey, i'm going out for milk! See you in a couple (of hours....).....

Clink!

Get it?

Mu hoo hoo haa haa!

Great idea!

Google Calendar is the way to go. You can share your calendar and show other people's calendars along with your own...even in a different color.

I created one called the Rocky Mountain West Wheeling Calendar just to check it out. It is set as a publicly viewable calendar, so you should be able to see it.

Perhaps creating a calendar for each geographic region?

But we need to get some way to text message automatically a bunch of people who "Opt-In" to this thing. Kinda like EMS workers always waiting for that beeper to go off.

Lets face it, were all somewhat nuts.

If ANY OF YOU WORTH YOUR WEIGHT found out during dinner that 5 discos and a lifted classic where poaching a trail at night, commando style just 10 miles from your house, your wife would be reading all the bedtime stories to the kids that night, right?

Even if she was in to mood for nookie.

Don't lie now....

I'd be out the door so fast, I might get a remote starter just for that.

Just to shave seconds....

On one of the MG sites I visit, there is a car show calendar. I too would love to see a "wheelin' " calendar.

BTW- I live just north of Albany. Let me know if you come up this way.

I'm trying to get a caravan going to MAR down the Garden State Parkway. This is for Friday morning in the 8AM-10AM range. We will do it with lights on and attract attention.

This would be good for the brand and for the fun of it. And if one of out trucks screws up along the way, we will have backup with knowledge, parts and tools.

It's also good on gas if we are close togeather (Drafting like a bike race).

And nobody will mind if we bump each other by accident.....

Anyone down for this?

Back to the Calandar thing, I'll look into a list server that texts messages and we can set up geographical areas. I figure northeast (Penn to Main and south to DC) mid atlantic area (DC south to North Carolina) you get it.

The theory is that we should be no more than a 4 hour drive to the event or trail. This allows us to make a weekend of it if we can.
