If you were going to spend a year someplace far away and you wanted to take a collection of great movies with you, what would you take?

What are your favorites? I mostly watch documentaries and war movies but for this list, I don't want to be limited to those. I'm interested in movies new and old, so long as they're great.

Ideally, I'm looking for stuff that can be rented from Netflix. Post a YouTube trailer if you feel like it.

FoCo, Colorado
The Hunt for Red October
It Might Get Loud (Documentary)
Smokey & the Bandit
Deliverance
Full Metal Jacket
Ronin
Dumb & Dumber
A River Runs Through It
Old School

..... could go on forever, but those come to mind right now.

Thought I would add a trailer for It Might Get Loud, if you're into music/rock its a fun one to watch.

Wow, that's a tough one. I could list pages of good movies. But if one has internet, I think if I could have access to only one movie website it would be TCM.

The all time personal favorite: Snatch. Could watch it over and over, and it never gets old.

Ya like dags?

On another note, you should watch that show "my big fat gypsy wedding" it's more about about pikies and Irish travelin folk and their way of life more so than weddings but it reminded me of snatch. Those people are weird, but it's a glimpse into a culture you never see.

Smokey & the Bandit

You got me thinking of some car movies and I added these to the list:

Cannonball Run I and II (III was terrible)
Stroker Ace

I wanted to add "Six Pack" starring Kenny Rodgers but Netflix doesn't have it on DVD yet.

They weren't "great" movies but if you watched HBO as a kid in the 80's, you probably remember them.
