After destroying the stock bumper on my D2 for the final time, I decided to take the Greg Davis route and I'm very happy with the result! This is in no way a bolt on, though. Getting over that fact and convincing myself that it's a 70% complete fabrication project made the install go much better as there is substantial welding, cutting, grinding, and finishing needed to make it all work. Also, I'd recommend being very conservative on the fender cut. I ended up with a bigger gap than I wanted and had to use someone else's idea of using angle stock to create a pseudo trim piece on the lower quarters. I also left the rear step in place because my kids love riding in the back and this is needed for them to get in. I used the plasma cutter to cut the holes for the backup lights and installed 2.5x6 trailer lights with rubber flanges. Lastly, I cut the resonator off at the rear hanger for a meatier exhaust note and painted the whole thing in direct-to-metal POR15 gloss. I'm very happy with the looks, it's got a boat-load of more clearance, it matches my TF809 sliders nicely, and this is one less part on the truck to break! Thanks, GD. Great product!
