Thanks for the info Mike. Do you have pics from your rear bumper?? What about the signal lights?? Do you have the stock ones from the original bumper installed??

i used led marker lights from www.awdirect.com. they have a lot of truck lights. i hope you can see from the image, that i had greg add the "shelf" extending rearward from the bumper. i put stuff on the roof all the time and i wanted more bumper to stand on. also, i like how it helps protect more of the spare tire regarding the departure angle.

Mike, thanks for the kind words and reference.

Pete, I have had a few people interested in selling my bumper, but to be honest, my production isn't reliable enough at this point, so everything still goes through me.

My e-mail address has changed. You can reach me directly at gregandjan@hotmail.com

Delivery is about 4 weeks right now, and the standard unit (no step like Mike's), which comes in bare steel, is $625, and ships freight direct via ABF Freight Lines.

Lemme know if you need any further info or pictures.

hey greg...long time, no chat...hope things are well nc way. still waiting for word on the davistyme stickers... ;)

chris...

it is a rack i made myself. i built it to do a variety of things. one was, i needed to carry things like sheetrock, so the split level lrna/safety devices rack was of no use. second, i wanted it to hug as close as possible to the roofline so i can get into the damn parking garage at the airport, plus (as the photo shows) i can carry a thule case, two kayaks, four bikes, and 4 jerry cans of fuel all at the same time. well...the photo does not show four jerry cans of fuel, but i hope you can imagine four cans along with all the other crap. i have thought of trying to make a go at the rack, so i have a provisional patent on the design, but have not pushed hard (or even soft) to make it work, but...it has worked great for everything i wanted so far. hopefully, the "what the hell" was not a sarcastic one!

i have to admit i am not to familiar with stratos stuff...so i would be hard pressed to give a thumbs up to one or the other...i have some stuff with fox rear shocks and i have been happy with them. for what it is worth. i would take the following things into consideration:

1) what i intend to do with the bike. if you want to do cross country, then i would not worry aobut long travel and go for light. downhill or big hit stuff, then travel is a bigger issue.

2) if you do not know much about bikes and setting them up, you will need one (or both) of two things. either a shock that does not have a pile of adjustments or a bike shop that will take the time to help you dial in an adjustable shock. one reason i have one of my parts bikes is that i could never dial it in well and finally just bailed on it. it was a cool bike, but i never rode it because it never felt right. if you are doing simple cross country or have not pushed your limits, then you might (and i say this as a person that has no idea as to your goals, abilities or desires) like a shock that is simple to adjust. i love being able to just get on the bike and ride without having to check pressures in the compression and rebound tubes and the dampining settings and blablabla. sure it is cool to have adjustments...but it is cool to just ride too...the white bro's is a simple and light cross country fork that allows you to just go...

for what it is worth...

best of luck. you are doing the best thing you can, ask ask ask...

I asked about the stratos M5 and the Fox Forx but then i was revising it and pressed the delete button so it got deleted. Thanks for your help mike i did a lot of cross country riding but now have been moving into more big hit and freerideing. I like the M5 a lot but also like Fox. Your White Bros. is really nice too. Thanks, Nick
