I guess there's going to be the first SNOW RUN pretty soon, but I'm in (with some days notice, otherwise I'd have to be AWOL at work)

i do have some flex weekdays but if we're talking w/e, guess we're looking at 12/21-23 or 12/28-30..otherwise we're in to 08'..

Marco, is the 'snow run' an organized event?

Sorta, usually a bunch of trucks, and sometimes it gets organized at the last minute, it depends mostly on snow though.

I was just going to throw a post up about goung up this month. I was thinking Shoe Creek on 29 Dec. There are some non Rover guys here in the Burg that want to go.

It would be cool if there was snow.

I'm really not that familiar with GWF.. I've done a little wheeling west of 81, any other suggestions?

With everything interesting closed off Shoe Creek is just a bumpy road.

Big Levels too. The good stuff is closed off and you have to take the main road/bypass around up past the first few good challenging obstacles. After that it's mainly a bumpy ride then to a little play area on some big rocks and a mud pit or two on the top. It's still always fun to get out on the trails, just wish there were some more places to go.

What's the deal with Dictum... I heard the land owner closed off the lower entry. Is that true, you have to come in from the top side?

There are some trails just off of Rt 33 (west of Harrisonburg), about 1/4 of a mile after you enter GWF, anyone done any of those. I followed one in Oct, crossed a stream and then turned around cuz I was alone.

So... is there a date set? or should we play it by ear depending on snow fall? the only date that I can't is Jan 4-5 and 6th due to a sky trip (my very first one ever)
