GWNF Day Trip Sat 18 April

where about ? there will be a few of us up on Second Mtn that day in the GWNF just west of H-burg
There were some great trails open at Big Levels today. Caleb and Jason will probably post pictures later. I'm not sure what time we are heading up to Second Mountain on the 18th. Caleb is the planner. The main reason we are going there is because some guys from work want to go but they want to ride ATV's and you can do both there. After Second Mountain we are going to go down to Big Levels and camp. Again Caleb is the planner and I think he's going to start a thread with the details in it.
You'se guyses is gonna wheel at 2nd mountain then drive 45 miles to camp?

yeah, the plan is to make it a two day event. 2nd mountain in the am to afternoon, Big levels in the evening , and then down to Amherst County to the ATV only trails on Sunday.

there is a couple of guys from work that just bought quads and wanted to check out 2nd mtn. plus that way we can all kind of hang out together. i will be with the guys on quads with my daughter. we are gona be up there pretty early and go down the fire road to the atv cross trail that leads over to Dictum Ridge. where we will meet up with the trevor ,my brother and my wife in my truck. there are a couple of friends of ours that should be there to with their jeeps. we figured we would head up from there and all meet up for lunch at the top of Dictum where it meets up with the lot for the atv's. then we will probably split up and wheel around up there in the afternoon.
that evening we are gonna head south and leave the trailers with quads at my house in Lyndhurst. I live right near the Coal Rd. we are planning to go up to big levels that night and campout after a little wheeling to get up there. we ran that route yesterday and it was alot of fun.
sun. morning we will head out fr 162 to the parkway and meet up with my wife who is bringing up the trailer with four-wheelers. then we will go down to South Pedeler's right off the parkway in Amherst Co. and ride quads all day there. we will be meeting an additional group there.
i know it sounds complicated but should be alot of fun. trevor and the guys in his group should be coming through h-burg around 9 or 10 if you wanted to follow them up(sboada). and we should be at the top of Dictum at lunchtime. or like i said we will be up on big levels sat night.and if anyone has a four-wheeler and wants to join us sun. we should have some extra room on the trailer.
i went thru the crabtree falls/shoe creek trail last week. Holy crap dude, that thing has washed out bad. I was in the toyota and had to lock the locker several times to be able to take it slow and easy. Alot of vehicle sized bolders have washed into the road. Vehicle size may be an overstatement, but beachball sized would be accuate. Thank goodness for skidplates.
