I am going to be getting a land rover from a buddy. Long story, but it is a 96 disco with 2"lift, BF Mud tires ect.

I live in Richmond and would like to do a day trip or possible overnight trip this winter to go have fun with the rover.

Nothing extreme since I will be running solo.

As far as overnight a campground that has rustic heated cabins would probibly be ideal in case my wife comes along.

how do i find a good map of the forest roads?

i think it would be cool to do a 100 mile loop of forest roads or something like that.

So, what are some specific routes you guys have taken? and where can i get a map?

For the maps, i think Gander Mountain had some or out in town around GWNF. Let me know when you plan to head up there, i was thinking maybe making a run at the end of this week with a buddy of mine.
When i went up there and relied on just OHV trail they were shitty. I d find out for sure where the decent trails are.

rovercanus or Dan Chapman spend a lot of time there, they might be able to help. Many of the trails in that area have changed or been closed, so check with someone or the FS for the latest info.

Let me know when you're headed out there maybe I will join. I'm just north of DC.
