2/26/2009--Introduced.
Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009 - Repeals the authority of the Comptroller General to carry out an onsite examination of an open insured bank or bank holding company only if the appropriate federal regulatory agency has consented in writing. (Retains the authority of the Comptroller General to audit a federal agency.)
Directs the Comptroller General to complete, before the end of 2010, an audit of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and of the federal reserve banks, followed by a detailed report to Congress.

Thoughts?

Yes, it's certainly worthy of discussion/interest (I've been discussing this with friends and family for what seems like eons), but we are owned, in the very literal sense. Timely is are Karl's comments:

The Banks own Everything, including the Fed Gov't

"And of course that's just The Car Czar. The Wall Street Journal, on A-1 (that'd be the top page) this morning is pointing out something much more uncomfortable - The Federal Reserve Bank of New York's Chairman, who was sitting on Goldman Sachs' board, continued to serve after they converted to a bank holding company and was in fact buying their stock.

Why is this important? Because The Federal Reserve Bank of NY is a policy-making body and the Federal Reserve System is a primary banking system regulator! Once Goldman converted to a bank holding company the firm fell under Fed jurisdiction."

We're playing by House Rules and they're the House. There's really nothing we as people can do except stop spending money.

But you've got to keep the actions of the FED a secret or the vurnability of large personal fortunes, uh I mean large banking institutions will be exposed!

?The refusal of King George II to allow the colonies to operate an honest money system, which freed the ordinary man from the clutches of the money manipulators, was probably the prime cause of the revolution.?
