Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

Since my family lives far away, I'm going to a potluck this year. I'm making my great aunt's recipe for homemade dinner rolls. They're killer. Literally. This recipe is from a time before the word "cholesterol" entered the vernacular.

Also making some homemade cranberry sauce, using Adam Carolla's recipe. His cranberry sauce rant is a Thanksgiving classic for me.

Finally, I'm making some homemade pinto beans with bacon, jalapeño, garlic, and white onion.

What's on your stove?

I'm so lucky that my father-in-law is a chef! We're all going to get fat this afternoon, and after some serious paperwork, I'm in for a little Rover maintenance tomorrow. All new fluids for winter and a flipped spare tire bracket are on the schedule. Speaking of which, has anybody used a washer from a hardware store instead of a LR crush washer during an oil change? Is it really a special part? As my 2-year-old said to me this morning, "Happy gobble gobble gobble day!"

Happy Thanksgiving every body!!! I can't wait till the turducken is done. Being that we have so many family and friends around here we are cooking a turducken, a fried turkey, a baked turkey and a ham.. Plus, all the other high fat goodies.. I only care about the turducken, fried turkey skin, beer and a couple of good cigars though.
