I have a set of Hedman. To install I had to pull the starter. Also had to remove the heat wrap from the steering linkage so i could see how to rotate the shaft via the steering wheel. Had to turn the steering shaft just so to het them to slide in.
Also had to relace the drivers side knock sensor with a flat D2 style, and I still had to trim a little off the backside IIRC.

Meh, its not too bad. Nothing a Pro like you can't knock out in a couple hrs. ;)
You'll have to get a little creative routing your cats and y-pipe. The headers come all the way down and 90(basically) into a ball/socket fitting. You'll have to run your cats behind that which means they'll be back further. Part of my y-pipe hangs lower than stock, but I think its far enough forward where it doesnt effect break over angle and it hasnt been a problem yet.

Cut the ball socket off and run a vband. And use bigger stainless piping. Like 2.5 merging together into 3" to the back.

If I run cats to keep it kosher in case I move to a state with emissions what size tubing should I run on those? I got that flowmaster 40 from Joel already cause I need a new exhaust anyway.

2.5 spun. I have a 2 into one cat but I don't think I like it. If I did it again I would merge the pipes into a 3" single spun. And my muffler is loud. Some magnaflow from autozone...

Use metal core for longevity.

I have one here built with the P38 headers but am worried about heat They are nice and high so you have infinate options for exhaust routing

What did you put P38's in? Sounds like ceramic coating is the way to go for off road vehicles in the rust belt

Concur, if heat is an issue would be interesting to coat them for that benefit too.

p38 headers will not clear the frame.

So I'm confused, Randy has P38 headers on something-but they won't clear the frame...
Guess it begs the question to Randy what those are bolted onto.
