Anyone have the name for and color of the original headliner material in the D1? This is the tan material. I did search the forum and there are a lot of solutions but not many fit the need to keep it original. They also made me think to take this to a body shop and close off the 2 sky lights...

Anyway - I am looking to keep this as stock as possible so I realize there are many options - but I am focused on the one Solihull used. I have not taken a sample to an auto upholster yet as I wanted to test what you all have found to look the closest to the original (educated consumer makes the best customer - LOL) .

Thank you all in advance - Cheers

Matt

I’ve done a handful of headliners. I like to buy the stuff on Amazon. I have some I just purchased and I’m not sure I’m going to use it. It looks more like the headliner in my Cruze. I’m pretty sure it’s a better headliner, but not correct. It has a texture to it, where as the original is just like smooth felt.
You should be able to find what you’re looking for on On that site. Your going to need more than 1 can of the headliner adhesive

I had my headliner replaced in Florida by Headliner Express just prior to moving out to CO. I updated the look with black headliner material, but they also sell tan. I also had the headliner replaced in our 2004 Mini Cooper S. Both still look great after approximately 8 years.

They sell kits that include the material and spray adhesive.
