I had my headliner replaced and I 'thought" the guy did a good job until I replaced my mirror yesterday. I had to take off the visors and the console to get the new mirror on.

What I found was a lot of screws missing and many that won't tighten down.....and one that is literally a 1/4 inch X 1.5 inch wood screw that still doesn't bite.

I didn't want to pull the liner down and I was pressed for time so what do the liner screws screw into? Is there a slip on screw clip, plastic stud or what?

Just curious if anyone knows so I can get a plan of attack. Thanks

Get the overhead console out of it and you'll be able to see better. I've seen people screw that thing up a million ways. Most time I see where somebody missed the anchor in the roof then jammed another screw into the same hole. The screws should be light colored. If there black it's the wrong screw.

You might just have to take it down and reposition it. I start all the screws with a regular old screw driver. I start with the center and I don't torque any of the screws until I have them all started. You need to be able to shift the console around a little. I'm thinking he's got half those screws messed up because he blasted the thing up there with a screw gun. He probably did it a lot faster than I could.
