Heated seat Switch not working?

We noticed today that when we used the heated seats the passenger was working fine but the drivers side switch didn't light up & the seat didn't warm up either.

I checked fuses under seat & all are fine.

I searched the forums for answers to a switch light not turning on, but only found threads with seat not heating even though the light on switch is on.

Has anyone had this happen that can give me an idea of how to diagnose & repair.

I plan on trying to switch the driver & passenger sides to check the switch. I have also searched the Rave for answers.

Thanks in advance.

If the tell-tale LED in the switch isn't lighting in the 'on' position, that means that either there is no output live on switch terminal 4, or the switch is not properly earthed on switch terminal 5.

Pop the switch out of the console, unplug the Green connector and, check that connector's terminals are clean and not corroded.

Then, using a test meter, test for a live on connector terminal 1.

Also, test for earth continuity on connector terminal 5.

On the switch, test for continuity across switch terminals 1 and 4 - there should be a circuit from switch terminal 1 to switch terminal 4, when the switch is in the on position.

I've never seen an LED fail in one of these switches; but, it's a possibility.

If you connect 12V to switch terminal 4 and an earth to switch terminal 5, the tell-tale LED should light-up.

While you're doing this, if you connect the 12V to switch terminal 2 and the earth to switch terminal 5, the switch's night-time illumination LED should light-up.

If you think you have a bad switch, just plug the connector in from the other switch and see if it works.

The LH switch uses a Green connector, the RH switch uses a Black connector -

They're keyed differently and are not interchangeable.
