Thanks, but I already installed the switch in the dash, assumed there was a lead I can tap into at the headlamp -- is there one, or am I going to be required to tamp into the fuse panel?
I didn't use the high beam lead because I thought there just might be a chance when I wanted my Hella's on when the headlights were not on. When you ask? Who knows!?! I just wanted them powered on their own so I powered through the fuse box under the hood.
Most state laws dictate how your auxiliary lights are wired/when they can be turned on. I have my roof rack lights wired through my parking lights and my bumper mounted fogs through the factory fog light switch.
If you tap into the fuse block under the dash then there's no need cut wires, solder & wrap. The fuses for the lights won't get power until the corresponding switch is turned on. This power wire is to power the relay, not the lights themselves. Power for the lights should come directly from the battery.
