I just saw you have a RoverTym...

You might not have a good ground connection the the bumper due to the powdercoat. In theory, the screw/bolt should do the trick, but you might want to check that connection, or try the other option with a dedicated wire.

I do have a brand new RTE bumper and that makes sense about the powdercoat. OK Ill have to extend that brown ground wire a bit but thats ok. Ill just run it to a new metal spot or the battery. The ground off of the relay for sure is connected to the frame where another wire is grounded already so that one should be fine.

And to answer your question - the bumper connects intimately to the frame so has to be grounded.

Thanks again - I really appreciate your replies.

As an aside, where in Centennial are you?

I 'grew up' in Littleton, Countyline and Holly, went to Arapahoe HS.

I live right by the Broncos training camp - Broncos Pkwy and Potomac! My daughter goes to school near Holly and Dry Creek. Small world! Why would you ever leave Colorado?

I got a good job offer after college that was too cool to pass up (building flight simulators). I've been trying to get back ever since. I just can't find something with my current company in CO unless I want to travel all the time...

It was the grounding :banghead:

The clearcoat on the bumper was just too much for the ground wire to penetrate

Thanks for everyones help!
