Hella wiring

I searched the forums, didnt know exactly what to search wise, but how did you guys get the switches for lights into the cabin from the front, what hole in the firewall did you guys find, and is there a way to pop the extra empty button on the dash out on the d2's i was going to cut a hole in it and put the switch in through that.

There's an empty grommet right near where the steering shaft goes through the firewall. Just pull it out, pierce it and then run the wires through that.

I've never had a vehicle which made it this easy before.

So once i have it in the cabin what is the method used to run the wire up into the area that the push buttons are? just feed up through the steering/fuse box area? Thanks again I haven't really done a lot of wiring before on the rover so I dont want to mess anything up.

Mike - do you have a Hella harness? I used a Hella harness (and switches) and ran mine through the rubber grommet under the passenger side and then "mounted" the 2 switches where the ashtray was. Ill try to post a pic tonight for you (not sure that it will help you any though)

If you wouldnt mind I'd really appreciate that, I am going to try and do this tomorrow morning and electrical on cars has always made me a little nervous.
