I had to swap transfer cases in my truck and re-installed my electric CDL kit. Was I supposed to pull the 3 bolts out of the top and remove some guts inside? I can't remember because it has been a long time and I don't want to tear into the center console without some reassurance from my Rover Brothers. Right now it does not wnat to un-engage. Doing it tonight, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Solenoid works fine, just needs a little help moving the arm, almost like there is some kind of detent ball and/or spring causing it to be hard to move. I thought maybe there is some stuff in there I have to take out, but I can't remember and don't want to pull the whole console out without cause. Thanks.

It moves freely by hand. Do you know if there is anything I need to remove inside?

The arm is moving fine. I don't think the type of kit matters. I mostly want to know if anyone who has a solenoid based kit knows if there is anything that has to be taken out from under the CDL cap. It seems like the solenoide is not stong enough to move it, and it won't return on its own. Thanks.

check the cdl solonoide/switch sensor thing. it can be threaded in too far and limit the cdl lever and cause it to not engage. you can remove it and put some right stuff on it and thread it back in but not as deep. the 04 t-case has a washer on the sensor to prevent this.. (but they will still do it sometimes)

Thanks. I will check that out becasue it does seem a bit harder to move than my old one. Where is the switch? Can I get to it from the bottom or do I have to dismantle the entire truck to get to it? Thanks again.

To answer the question you've been asking all along... No, nothing needs to be removed from inside the case for these goofy electronic CDL kits. I would say that the most likely case is that the "new" transfer case never had the CDL used, so it is sticky/hesitant to disengage. With a mechanical/cable linkage, this wouldn't be much of a problem.... just use a little more pressure. With your solenoid setup, the solenoid may simply not be powerful enough to overcome the resistance. This is why I simply use a D1 linkage, and have never regretted it.
