Hello all,
I recently purchased a used 02' Disco II. In wonderful condition, from original owner who had all maintenance done at Land Rover Dealer. I just noticed a strange sound that occurs every twenty or so seconds. Sounds rather like bubbles being forced through a tight space or maybe a bearing going out. Anyway, I was hoping you guys might be able to point me in the right direction. Here is a link to a video I took earlier today

Thanks, Phillip

Very hard to hear it exactly....kind of sounds like a "sniff" to me. Does it only happen at start-up (i.e. warm-up)?

It's a normal self test that checks the system function constantly. People used to complain about it all the time. That reservoir on the drivers side with all the sloshing around looks a little low. So maybe the self test is noisier than normal because of air in the fluid. I can't here shit from your video, just based this on your description and the fact that you went to the passenger side to hear it.
I always thaught it was stupid to have such a loud self test. As great as the ACE system is, that noise your complaining about is a deal breaker for me.
I would say that if it's doing that and no warning light is on your system is all good.
