Help! Truck stuck in park

truck is stuck in park
transfer case is in neutral
stuck in road

how do I get it out of park

update, now the tcase is on gear. it won't come out nor will the key. truck keeps beeping at me.

got the key out but had to disconnect battery. if reconnected it won't release the key.

never mind, I disassembled the shifter. truck rolls but I don't know if the tcase is in gear or not

Brake pedal switch or solenoid on the shifter?

If brake lights don't work it won't shift. You can manually push the detent on the shifter lock out to put in drive but you won't have brake lights. Typical fault with D2. Most likely brake switch.

Sometimes the XYZ switch on the transmission creates issues like this.

Look for a SIDS document on brake shift interlock. The system has 2 jobs. Keep you from putting truck in gear without your foot on the brake pedal. And to make sure you don't remove the key from the ignition switch unless the truck is in park.
