Help Wiring a Relay

alright i tried to wire a realy in my disco following the directions on the package. I checked some of the diagrams in the tech section they didnt seem to help. Im wiring two hellas front. so far i have fused power from the battery to pin 30, from pin 85 to ground, pin 87 to hellas, the hellas are grounded, then i have pin 86 to a switch in the cab, i then have the switch grounded, the package only says pin 86 to switching means not sure if i did that right. My relay is from autozone dont kno if the pin #'s are the same as other relays. the lights still dont work. please help.

you need to supply either 85 or 86 with power, so power the other side of the switch (usually from the parking light circuit) or jump 85 to 30.

Power the switch

You need to power the switch. Tap into a 12v power source and run that to the switch.

Depending on when you want the lights to work, pick an appropriate 12v source.
With lights, pick a parking light source.
On anytime, pick a constant 12v source.
