I am getting ready to change to sensor location for the rear sls. I tried yesterday by changing the sensor 1", my before fender to floor hight was 32.2 " and after the change it went up to 36". What did I do wrong.
Also without any change, my stock height for the rear was 32.2 on the passenger rear, 31.8 on the driver rear, do you know why this was like that. I kind a knew there was a difference before but never measured it. Should i get them to same height while I'm am lifting it. thanks

The SLS sensor is located about the middle of the rear control arms, while the SLS airbag are located on the rear axle. Basically, you're dealing with a triangle - a 1" change at the SLS sensor will lift the truck a lot more at the axle.

I recently installed a HD OME lift on my DII, and I tried a 1.5" change at the sensor. Made the truck look like it was about to tip forward. So I changed it to 1" at the sensor and the truck looks very level. If I had followed Expediton Exchange's advise in their tech section, I would have saved myself the extra work.

I put 1 inch as well, this ended up with almost 4" lift, i'll try to do it again this weekend, i thought about the spacers, but for the price like you guys said I won't do it, if it has a problem i'll convert it to coils.
question for Knut;
what happens when you push the button to lift the bags when you already lifted them up by changing the sensors.

I used the spacers on mine and I can lift and lower mine w/ no problems. I found the ride waaayyyyy too stiff without the spacers.

Chad is right. I have my SLS inflated all the time and the rear is really rough. If you want to keep the adjustable ride height then fork over the 180 for the spacers. I've never pushed the SLS button but the system still works. When I have the back loaded SLS tries to raise the rear. someday it will blowout.
