ever thought of the coleman racing brackets on your bumper or rack? If you dont' have a steel bumper or rack, disregard what I said.

i have some hi-lift mounts for a bumper I'll get rid of if you want to go that route. i guess you could mount them dang near anywhere that is flat.

Yeah, that's kind-of the problem, no bumpers, no rack - I was considering a rack, but I need to keep the roof clear for the roof-top tent.

I even considered the "flat-mount" route, on the hood or something, but I am reluctant to poke holes into metal that I'm making monthly payments on.

the mount breaks down, so you can easily pull the mount and jack off (teehee i said jack off)
wit out removing the tire.
