why do you need a "high lifting" bottle jack? you're supposed to jack the vehicle by the axle. any standard bottle jack with a screw-top can do this. most bottle jacks have the screw thing on the end. just get one at walmart. if you need one for offroad purposes, then you need to get a hi lift and jacking points. a bottle jack in the mud/sand/dirt isnt very safe at all.

What about a screw-type jack that came standard on Series Rovers? These had a double-acting lifting column, and there's nothing to break or leak. The never-used hydraulic jack in the Disco was replaced with one of these.

Forget the Hi-lift. You don't need/wont be able to use it on a stock DII.
Any auto parts store or big box store like Lowes, etc should sell a decent bottle jack.
I picked up a 6 ton bottle jack at Shucks/Checker for aroud $25.00.

I can beat that price. WTF is a plastic jack worth, anyway? Pay shipping, one's yours.

There's cheap bottle jacks everywhere, though, have you considered one of the lift mate adapters? that as well as the bottle jack you'd be able to lift one of the 4 wheels or rear hitch + change tires w the bottle..
just a suggestion

Just get a used LR bottle jack out of a parts car. I'm guessing Will Tillery has a few dozen lying around.

The LR bottle jack is the shit.
It's compact but extends to good height.
They don't last forever, but they are still the best option I've found.

The bottle jack is the newest item came with my 2nd hand Disco, and it is never been used and it will always stay that way because it is not in working order.

thay are small and easy to use! i have 2 of them but they are for "normal" car ie lifting only 12 inches! and with 12 icn i dont get discos whees in the air!

finaly i did find jack/model i was looking for (magic word was TELESCOPIC) http://www.zenith-land.com/product_view.asp?id=135&idsdf=23&pn=TELESCOPIC BOTTLE JACK 4 ton jacjk lifts 21inches. should be enough?

those http://www.bushranger.com.au/exhaust_jack.php are indeed interesting lifting 30 inches! but HUGELY expensive!

thaks for you interest!

gmookher- do you use that instead of a Hi-lift or carry both? I like the idea so I am curious.
