Well; can't Really help you. This is what I did. But I haven't put the motor together yet. A 4.0 Bosch motor. Removed all the FI, put on a Edelbrock intake. Bought the Holley. Am in process of converting to distributor now. Then when it's all back together, it's getting shoehorned in a 88" SIIa.

I have been thinking about using the Holley Truck Avenger. I have the Edelbrock 1404 500cfm carb on my 3.5 and it works OK. The Holley sounds like it would work better on the steep stuff where the Edelbrock floods. I would like to hear what someone has to say who has had both.

Old trick to stop flooding on hills. Get a piece of hose the right size about 4 inches or so long, attach it to the float bowl vent, then run it up the stud for the air cleaner and zip tie it. Then the fuel doesn't slosh out the vent and into the venturis. If you have more than one vent you can put two shorter pieces of hose into a "T" and then run a short section up the stud.

This worked on my Scout II and my dads CJ-5 Jeep.

I m getting a sinking feeling that the Holley TA 470, could be more problems that one would hope for. Its been around for a while and yet not alot of information on any land rover v8 applications.

Wondering if a Qjet would not be better ..

Stay with the Holley and stay away from the quadrajunk... one mans opinion. Anywhere you go you will find that holley is used for perfomance vehicles and not qjs

Thats not anywhere close to true.

However, the Holley is easier to rebuild, easier to tune, and much easier to learn about carburetors with. Perfect for you I would say.
