how do I remove oil cooler lines

How do you remove the oil cooler lines from a 199 disco 2 Do you push the plastic collars twards the fire wall ,or twards the front of the truck ? cant get them off. radiator is almost out

Back towards the fire wall, away from the oil cooler.
I had to spray some penetrating oil on mine and let them soak.
Than I tapped them back with an open end wrench to lossen them up.
They rust and fill up with dirt.
I guess you should replace the o-rings but I never did and I have no leaks yet.:eek:

Once the collar on mine was freed up I could hold the hose in one hand and pull the collar back with my index finger and thumb. Than slide the hose back.
Works like a quick disconnect on a air hose except there is no air pressure to blow it off.;)

Wow, that gives me an idea... Maybe you should remove them with the engine running so that the oil pressure will help push them off.......
