How do I test the fuel pressure regulator on a D1? It's either that or the injectors blowing in too much fuel. I'd like to try the fuel pressure regulator first.

Also interested in good NON-dealer sources for such parts.

Thanks!

Test for what? Leaking? Pressure regulation?

You can confirm pressure with a pressure guage. The proceedure is outlined in your Service Manual.

Want my bet......I have seen one GEMS fuel regulator fail, but I have seen hundreds of leaking injectors.

Ok, it's more likely an injector than the regulator, but how can I tell which it is? A leak-down test will only tell me there's a leak. I need to know which of the 8 injectors, regulator, or other thingy on the rail is the one doing the leaking.

I don't have a service manual, only a Rave disk and a Haynes manual.

Doesnt matter which injector is leaking. Replace all 8.
Great! At the best price I've found, that will be $1200! I'll run right out and spend my next three unemployment checks on those right away! :banghead:

Even if I wasn't on UC right now, I still couldn't afford that!

WHAT?

Dude, go to www.lindertech.com and tell them what you have. They will send you a set of new injectors that are better then the lucas losers that came with the car for about $200-$300.

Ah, now that's good info. I'll call them tomorrow, thanks too much.
