I need to know how to remove the cigarette lighter outlet from a 97 Disco. I have pryed it out most of the way but theres still something catching it on one side. Am I wrong or is it the little green ring that holds it in because thats out on both sides.

To Properly remove the Cigar lighter you would have to remove the center consol. Especially if you plan on replacing it with a new one. If you don't care to remove the center consol I say grab it with a pair of channel locks and give it a good hard jank or two. It will come loose.
Just pop it out from the right side and push it out. You do not need to remove the whole center console.
What do you mean pop it out from the side? Are you saying theres enough room to get my hand back there without removing anything. Is there a screw holding the back of the lighter in?
