I can do many jobs on cars, but this one perplexes me, i cant find the PDF on it in Rave, and i was wondering if anyone could walk me through it or post up the how too?
im looking..... its not hard just time consuming.... you do have to remove the top of your door frame with window to get it out... its alittle intimidating at first but its not hard... ive done a few for my buddies... wish i would have done a pic and write up...
question..... are you just replacing the reg or are you doing the motor too? my strong suggestion is replace the motor too...... they are what fail when your window wont roll up or falls... the gears are plastic.... you can get a pro line for alittle less than a 100..... hey they are sale for 80 http://www.roversnorth.com/store/c-781-window-regulators-motors.aspx
I agree with slowNstdy, replace the whole thing while you're in there. It's a PITA job, but not technically difficult. Just take your time, and test it a lot! Also, be prepared to loose knuckle flesh.
Motor is fine, its the loud pop when i roll it up, i already tried the bushing fix didnt do it. I already have the regulator, if the motor fails i will deal with it then. Thanks.
It's like a puzzle, not really all that hard. Megaditto's on the knuckle flesh. I did my passenger side and didn't have to remove anything but the door skin. Mine was POPPING too and it turned out the little plastic wheel shattered. At first I fixed it with a little bolt and some washers but the track was too bent up and eventually it popped the track and the scissor arms got all bent to shit. I got a new regulator with a lifetime warranty from Will Tillery for a great price - see the vendor's section for Will's contact info.
