I"ve had trouble using the 2 post lifts, even with extensions trying to support it by the frame. I've done it, but I don't like it.
I like good ole' jack stands, or a roll on lift that I can support the axle.

of course not the entire weight of the truck. ...but lifting even one corner by the body still can't be a great idea right?

Hmm. Not lifting via the body (sliders) begs the point of how does one change a tire on a disco using a highlift jack then?

highlifts are a poor choice of tools to change a tire...I can max out my 48" highlift without even lifting a tire off the ground.

the bottle jack is the best tool for the job all you need to do is have a platform to prevent it from sinking in soft soil.

I guess it seems there aren't very many good locations to lift the frame from, the welded seam is underneath some of the rails.

Maybe welding on a small 4"x6" section of "U" shaped steel would make for additional jack points along the frame?

Thats right I want more humps

I carry a bottle jack, actually a jackstand jack, its a jack stand and a jack all in one, from shucks

I dont 'like' hi-lifts, but am very comfy using one on me sliders if I absolutely had to, like if the jackstand jack broke, or i forgot to put it back in the cargo are where it lives..

I would NEVER lift the rig by both sliders in the air

I painted my humps Orange. Yes. Flourescent orange.

I hope this thread makes you all aware that just casue the fuckers wearing a name tag and holding an impact doesnt mean he has a clue. Its not cool to lift it by just whatever looks good-sliders, random points along the frame's seams..

Our rigs are modded lifted etc and care should be excersized for both safety and well being of the rig.

Use My HUMPS to lift my rig please

Any tech who tries to lift my rig any other way needs to use a floor jack and some stands and do the job on a tire lift or an alignment rack.

When I go adventure wheeling, I consider bringing my hi-lift, which mounts to my bumper via a rack that alo holds my cooler, and spare fuel.

Yes two jacks sometimes..
