My left side fog lamp is cracked. I bought a replacement already but am not sure how to access that area. Do I need to remove the side bumper cover? I tried doing a search of this forum (and Google) first but couldn't find the info I needed so any help would be much appreciated!

Oops; sorry--yes; it's an '03 DII. I'm not sure what part you are referring to exactly--can you tell me which you mean using this diagram? (I wasn't sure if you meant what they call the wing--which sounds like a real PITA...or another part located near it.)

Crawl under the truck.

If still present, are wide black plastic pieces screwed between the bottom of the bumper and the edges of the fenders. Unscrew these to gain access to the foglamp from the rear. It's screwed into a mount on the backside of the bumper.

Been awhile, so the details might be a TINY bit off, but once under there you'll see how to proceed. Easy cheesy.

Okay; thanks, guys--I just went out there and took another look and I think I see the panel you're talking about now. I have no idea what self-tappers and spire nuts are, but I'll look those up before I attempt to tackle it this weekend. Ooh; boy--nothing like learning about working on a vehicle by using the internet and then just trying it!

Okay; I started removing the panel...but then I realized I didn't know what I was going to need to do to get the washer fluid reservoir and mount out of the way. Unfortunately I don't have a driveway where I can just leave things out while I do more research. I had to give up... :-( I think I'm going to have to take it to my mechanic at this point--some jobs are just a lot harder when you don't have the know-how or the right tools (and work area). But at least I gave it a shot. And the garage can't gouge me on the part...
