I've earned an entry level position here. Did I tell you about the time my forward gear went out in the D2, and I drove it home 13 miles in reverse.

Which lane were you driving on and which way was the truck facing?
vehicle facing the correct direction, traveling in the wrong (reverse) direction? or vice versa?

I was in the far right lane whenever it was a dual lane in same direction.
I was in the correct lane driving no less than 15 miles under the speed limit. I simply was driving in reverse. I knew I could do it so I did. I got some weird looks but kept focused and made it home.
And the wife thought I was intense about putting IKEA furniture together from start to finish nonstop regardless of it being sleepy time.

what ended up being the issue with the transmission?

It was a pesky sensor that was inside the transmission pan. I had to drop it all in my driveway, installed new part and I was good to go.
I recall cursing a lot as later in my back doing the messing work with fluid dripping on my face. I only had a few inches of clearance but it worked out.

Thanks
