HOLY smokes they are nearly all over 10k for a clean one. Upwards of 15-20k for SUPER clean ones. I will be selling soon I think and making my $1700 investment multiply by 6 - LOL love it
Prices on everything are going bat shit crazy lately houses
Same where we moved from, though probably not like Seattle. The rate at which prices are going up has has increased a bunch. Hockey stick. Luckily market were moving to is less $/sf. but, like most places, inventory is extremely lowLately? The housing market where I live has been rising sharply for years. Despite all the people I hear complaining about Seattle, apparently a lot of people still want to move here.

Possibly wrong tense of verb for “we’ll” as inflation has already hit our area pretty hard especially in construction materials. Food same although not as dramatic as lumber. Very glad we built our house which is all wood 3 years ago.It looks bad. I expect we'll get hammered by inflation.
I'm generally very pessimistic about what's coming next. It's going to get bad, and then it will get worse.
Yeah the lumber is going crazy. I was going to build on to my garage. About 18 months ago my carpenter quoted me 30,000 ish for what I wanted to do, now without even asking him I know that ship has sailed. Somebody told me that a sheet of plywood was getting close to $100. I never verified that. But if true I'm just going to get by with the garage I have now.Possibly wrong tense of verb for “we’ll” as inflation has already hit our area pretty hard especially in construction materials. Not I yet pretty nicely done. Funny though when we had our 110 300tdi in Brasil, LR specifically said in owners manual NOT to use bio diesel which was readily available.Which one of you is this?

It’s funny how much $ has been printed and pumped into the economy over the past year + with seemingly no consideration or thought of the repercussions.I do believe this is just the start and that it will get much worse.
For me, I’m it’s a toss up to pay a bit less for a nice D1 with some of the creature comforts in a trade off for the lesser driving experience and cool factor of a Defender.
I always laugh when I remember driving through a rain storm in the Defender. Wind was billowing in through the gaps in the door, the windscreen defog didn't work, and there was a waterfall cascading over my wife's feet (she was at the wheel). She ended up driving an hour wrapped in a towel with my leather work gloves on her hands. That's fun to do once, but not when you live in Seattle and it rains half the time.
Have mentioned this in the past yet seems appropriate here as well. Our 110 we had in Brasil was manufactured there. We visited the factory and the GM was very proud that “his” Defenders didn’t leak like those from GB. He was 100% correct - in the 5 years of ownership never leaked even in the rainy season. It was an awesome Rover however all Rovers have + and - .In my old 90 I kept a plastic bag for my left foot whenever it rained. In a big storm I’d just take my shoes off. Endearing but also kept me from driving it more often given the climate of the south
Back to Rovers, it’s interesting to see the prices shitbox and poorly done ‘restomod’ RoW Defenders have been getting lately. The market never really bottomed out like I thought as more of them start being imported. For me, I’m it’s a toss up to pay a bit less for a nice D1 with some of the creature comforts in a trade off for the lesser driving experience and cool factor of a Defender.
