Had the same issue until this weekend. Disconnect the electrical ABS connector located in the engine compartment next to your air filter. This will disengage your ABS system. Your ABS light will remain illuminated until you yank it out. I'm not at home, otherwise I would include pics and such to better detail this process. Good luck!

Thats right. welcome to the club. I battle my abs light all the time. It is freaking our because there is a problem. like that is not the obvious. IT could be that the gap between the sensor is too large. Go around to them all and try to push them in. usally that does it for me. I also have experienced my abs going off at unexpected times and have fixed the problem by changing the brake pads. Since the rear rotors on my truck are way over due to be replaced, and the pads are worn out, the abs freaks out. I figure it is too much play or something for the system to handle.

Just my two cents. take it or leave it. but learn to live with becasue it is a land rover. It can drive you crazy if you are not carefull. :p

I agree with all said.

Unless you've got thick pockets, AVOID going to Land Rover. You've probably got problems with your sensors, and they'll want $500 to replace one. If more than one sensor is bad... it'll add up into a hefty bill.

Personally, I think the Disco's ABS system sucks ass even when it works. Like Marc Olivares said, pull out the damn fuse and be done with it.

FWIW, I think the brakes perform much better without ABS.

Thin rotors or pads don't affect the ABS system, but if you neglect your brakes, you probably neglect your wheel bearings even more. And when THEY get loose, the sensors start throwing weird signals, which causes the controller to freak out.

The quick fix is to push the sensors all the way back in (as was suggested) and pull the caps off the hubs so you can check/tighten the big wheel bearing nuts. If that doesn't work, then you probably need a new sensor or 2, and they ARE ex$pen$ive new. I have one good used rear one for cheap...

The wire on the front drivers side is the most prone to fail.
I agree with going round and pushing in the sensors. But I would pull them out first and clean out the mud and dirt them push them home, especially the fronts.
Other than that it could be a bad Pressure value.
