What is the yellow warning light on the dash of the RRC that looks like a circle with parentheses on each side? It's in the left-most column on the dash light grid, maybe second row up from the bottom. It came on briefly, flickered, then went away. I can't find a definitive decoder ring online. Brake pads?

I'd see this warning light many times years ago with Audis. Frequently, it was the result of a flaky/intermittent pad wear indicator wire. On those systems, both front inner pads were wired in series in one big loop that flashed the light if it broke or got grounded. The simplest solution was to cut the connectors off the pads and short the wires to each other, no more lights. Would need to look at the wiring diagram to be sure the system is the same, but it should be simple enough either way. This is one of those "features" that's more trouble than it's worth.

It's not the fluid level warning light. That's in the bottom right. It looks like this:

No owner's manual, haven't had a chance to dig up RAVE yet. Update: the light in question is immediately to the left of the towing light.

Just saw the symbol in your post.

On mine that is the upper right hand position, yet, same symbol.

It is for the Traction Control system on my '94 LWB.

This illuminates when TC engages in the rear.

Possibly a wheel sensor is dirty, not fully connected, or something.

If it looks like this (0) with this (!) in the middle, it means there's a warning message on the system. The reader should be under the outside edge of the passenger side seat under the trim. This was to read the 14cux codes in the system. Back when I had my '95 RRC, I found the codes on the web.

The upper right warning light on my dash is more like this:

o-!-o

where the ! is inside a triangle. I think that is the traction control warning light. Which is possibly related to my ABS fault (that light is also illuminated). I had my trusty indie Rover shop diagnose the ABS fault while the truck was in for some other work, which is front driver's wheel sensor. I had a new one delivered a couple days ago and hope to install it tomorrow. With any luck that will resolve both of those fault issues.

If it looks like this (0) with this (!) in the middle, it means there's a warning message on the system.

The fault light I'm asking about is not the Check Engine light. That was illuminated when I bought the truck. I read the codes, resolved those issues, and reset it. For the last 200 miles it has been happy. The light I'm referring to flickered on only briefly, then went out (the CEL stays on until manually reset). I haven't been able to reproduce conditions for it to come back on. I noticed yesterday that the shape of the icon is very similar to the shape of the icon for the parking brake light. This suggests to me that the light in question is brake related. The rear rotors need replacement and I'll install new pads when I do that anyway, but that doesn't address my original question of what does this light mean and what could cause illumination.

Thanks for the photo, it helps to have a reference. Your top right light (illuminated) is what I think is traction control.

The light I'm trying to identify is immediately left of the trailer icon and directly above whatever that undecipherable red light is.

That's it. Okay, good info, makes sense. Time to order pads and plan time for a rear brake project.

New rotors are already on the garage shelf awaiting installation. Given the prolonged neglect suffered at the hands of the previous owner I won't be surprised if I uncover other projects needing attention while I'm at it.

Yes, there usually is more than one thinks whenever doing something on a RRC. While you are there with the brake redo, take a look at those little wires that send the signal to the warning light. Also the TC sensors and their little, fragile wires. Always surprised me how delicate some of the wiring is on for the most part a very robust designed vehicle.
