Get ready to bend over, CA:
Yesterday, 11 new gun control bills passed out of SPS committee, and goes to the Senate Appropriations. Some of the bills include:
SB 374- basically outlaws the sale and transfer of ALL semi-auto rifles, including 10/22s, M1 Garands, etc. Those already in possession will have to be registered, including fingerprints, into a database, or face imprisonment.
SB 47- Expands the definition of "assault weapon" to include any rifle with a removable magazine. Bullet buttons will be moot. After registration as an AW, transfer and inheritance is outlawed, firearms becoming property of the state.
SB 396: criminalizes the possession of "high capacity" mags regardless of date purchased, affecting pre ban mags. Bans mags that were retrofitted to 10 round capacity (10/30 mags, etc)
SB 53: Bans internet/mail order ammo sales. Requires background check and permit for purchase of ammo. Requires vendors to submit sales records to CA DOJ.
SB 755: expands the list of prohibited persons for firearms possession. Includes those "guilty" of hazing, illegal firearms transfer, providing ammo to a minor, etc.
This is ridiculous one-upsmanship at its worst. Please, write your representatives ASAP!
