I'm a lucky man, freezing temps and broken latches?

Fixed my driver's side latch already. It was the plastic connector which I rebuilt a with wire cable system instead of the bars. So that was fun.

Today was 15 degrees and I'm leaving the bar I work at and drive home. Stop there for a bit and when leaving after a few minutes leave and find the door won't shut. So I'm driving down the road holding my door closed. As I'm pulling into a business the latch must have buckled onto the peg thing because the door is now closed. So I try to get out of the truck and inner latch won't open the door. So I climb over the passenger seat and out of the car. Go around and try opening from the outside...nope!

Fuck me, could this be a temp thing? I'm gonna try and look into it in the morning, however I can't he the dang door open at this point so I'm stumped. Usually at least one way to open the door still works. This time I have nothing. Wishing I had lubed the latches before winter , opps. Anyways you guys had anything like this happen?
This is weird

Unfortunately I can't open it from the inside or outside. The manual lock button seems to be messed up and crunchy feeling. Plus I never had power lock anything on this impulse buy. It definetly doesn't operate smoothly. So I'm starting to lean toward the lock button being a culprit. I literally just repaired the inner latch and can't imagine how both can die? Go figure it's -2 degrees out right now so I can't just go willy Nellie around in the cold trying to fix it.

Looks like I'm gonna just learn yoga so I can get in and out of the passenger side easily.

Similar door problems happened to me last year when we had all those sub 0 days. My door was frozen shut. Managed to get it open & then it wouldn't latch when I tried to close it.

Maybe your linkage is frozen. Can you park it anywhere that's heated like a friend's garage or try a heat gun or space heater inside.
Or maybe your linkage repair slipped out of adjustment. Try pulling the inside handle multiple times fast… that would work for one of my doors that was slightly out of whack.

I'm going to try to get out there now and take a look at it. We've got a real heat wave going on at 19°
I may have access to an old garage, not heated but I would at least have power. It's just so odd that they both go at the same time. After reading and reading on this subject it looks like I have two options: the hammer and chisel to get the door to pop or the pray it might be a broken lock button deal and if I can get that up again perhaps both handles will function.

hairdryer worked for me last year in these really cold temps. just held it on the door by the mechanism for like 20 minutes-skipped the heat gun as that would've probably bubbled some paint.

Mystery solved.

I've been really lucky lately. I think the rover gods are testing my faith. Turns out the last chimpanzee that worked on that door must have done a number on the lock/unlock button. It's always felt like garbage moving it up and down. I jiggled it up and down like a hundred times and one of those must have worked as both handles are back in service for now...
