Yeah, my daughter has told my wife multiple times we need a 90s Defender, she thinks it would be hers when she turns 16. As if.
I like how she thinks. I need a mid 90’s 5 door for myself. Wait! I really meant for my daughter. lol. That’s a better choice than my son who thinks a a classic Dodge muscle car with a 440 is the first car he should have.

We got one of these for my son and seems to work pretty good
Ozark Trail Lil' Traveler Kids 7" Air Mattress with Armrests

and a little camping chair, it sometimes gets used but a lot of the time they are sitting on someone’s lap instead
Yeah, a mini-fold-up camping chair is appreciated by the little ones so they can be just like the grown-ups.

All good stuff!

We took our boys to MAR as toddlers. They’re now in their 20’s, both Eagle Scouts, and spend weeks living outdoors every year.

Any specific camping gear of note or recommended for the kiddos?
If they are really little, get that interlocking foam tiles and cover your interior tent floor. My boys never woke up in the same place they went to sleep. The foam makes sure they are always on a sleeping pad (insulation).

We also used those tiles for an outdoor play area so they weren't just sitting on the dirt.

Don’t know how you guys managed to get them out so young. Took our (usually well behaved) 9 month old to the mountains for a few days and couldn’t get in a moderate hike without some serious crying halfway through. Great learning experience anyway and will get him out on trails soon enough, though I’m not sure a camping trip is in the cards for quite a while
