with all the knowledgeable and helpful members in this forum, should't there be a list of trusted, reliable, and proven indy shops? I live in SJ and I know British Exclussive is a good option over the dealership; but surely there must be other shops that work on this vehicles in the area, right?
A friend of mine is in need of a tune-up (he lives in San Carlos) and can't find any shops in his area. The dealership quoted him around $700.00 for Spark-plugs, Oil and Filter, Air filter and Transmission tuneup. It seems excessive.
does anyone know of a good shop somewhwere in the peninsula?
My friend is the least handy person in the world, so doing it himself is out of the question. And though I could help him, I'm out of the country for the next month or so.
thanx

His is a Disco II '03; mine is a Disco II '02

When I was in the Bay Area I used Cerrone's European. Not sure if they are still around.
X2 and also Exclusive British European (on Winchester). I think it all depends on where you live. If I was closer to Redwood City then I would go to Frank and Tony, but Jon at Exclusive is really close/convenient for me. Plus they do good work, never a problem.

as always you guys come through with prompt info. I'll look into Cerrone's; I've never heard of them.
thanx
How about a list though, for example a few shops in northern california, a few shops in souther california, shops in seattle, oregon, phoenix....you know all the big cities in the states.
