Honey - want to go to Africa and drive a Grenadier for 8 days or should we just buy one and drive it around here instead for the same price?
Now, I have no idea what that kind of trip would regularly cost, is that price reasonable? Seems pretty bonkers to me.

Land Rover offered excursions like this at one time. Don’t remember the cost yet as I looked into it pretty sure it was much less than $40k.
I only spent three days in San Juan Mountains - so only four mountain passes over 12k (Engineer, Cinnamon, Corkscrew and Hurricane).
That particular photo is close to 10k.
According to the British press the skies are cloudy for Grenadier. Interesting discussion of how the "no frills" concept evolved to the "luxury 4x4" that the Grenadier is becoming (has become?).

I didn't realize recaro is going out of business, nor how big a deal a seat is due to crash tests.
I thought pre-production versions had glass, but now I can't find photos of any. If someone created an aftermarket glass kit that didn't leak, I bet it would be a popular item.
No, they don't. It's all good, though. Plenty of light inside a Grenadier - enough for all 'Zonies to tint the shit out of the windows.

But the funny part is - with roughly equal amount of sunshine, the proportion of SoCal vehicles with clear windows is probably 10x higher than in Arizona.
Another observation that always baffled me is popularity of black vehicles in AZ.
Arizona used to be a lot different than California. Now the only real difference is that Uhauls with California plates stack up in Arizona....and now our politics has a severe flavor of California self-destruction.
And not again with the window tint! Try living for months in a row at 110+ degrees. For Christ's sake, it's still pushing 110 out here through next week. You're in the 60s and 70s. It's all these SUVs from California moving to AZ and bringing their global warming with them.
