I don't necessarily notice a preponderance of black vehicles out here. But there certainly isn't a shortage of black vehicles, that's for sure. When I crashed my (white) 1996 Disco I bought a black on black BMW 325i. Yeah, that thing was hot all the time. I definitely Zonie-tinted those windows. I remember when I first moved out here in early 1996 with a newly-leased Jeep Cherokee Sport. It was dark metallic green in color but it had the black stamped steel bumpers. That first summer I went out to my truck one day to get my mtn bike out of the cargo area and when I leaned in to grab the bike, I burned an imprint of the bumper right across both my thighs.

My wife has a white MB suv, I have the white GX550, and my neighbors each have a white SUV. I've been shopping 911s to replace my silver Boxster and I must admit I've been partial to white, and a close second is the same light metallic silver as the Boxster. When I see black on black examples I pass right over them.

If you’re a clean / detailed car person and you like doing it yourself my saying is You don’t own a black car, it owns you! Have had a few over the years and enjoyed them as black really does look great on some cars. Never did like a black RRC though.

Some Rovers really stand out in white. The D1, RRC, and Defender (original) are iconic in that color. I love my Alaska white LR3, there's something about that shape and that color that work together well. For some reason white doesn't seem to be as distinctive on the independent suspension Range Rovers. I prefer the darker colors on those models, particularly the greys and Tonga green.

I love the Land Rover subdued white color. I had 1996 Discovery in white with beige leather. It was the classiest thing I had ever done with my life at that point in time.

Man, I can smell this car and feel it too when I look at pics. It was like ridin' a warm stick of butter down a hot frying pan.

IMHO the best ad campaign ever introducing a new vehicle.
Agree the various shades of white really are nice on the D1, RRC, and the 110. The NAS D90 had a nice color palate although again didn’t like it in black.
And of course partial to Alpine White on a RRC especially when in the Alps.

Those glasses appear to be at dangerously low tide. Refill needed! (Maybe not for the driver.)

We had one in the group at Uwharrie this weekend, the interior looks like a space shuttle. Did surprisingly well, seemed very stoutly built. Needs lift to do much, lots of banging on the undercarriage.

I am surprised - the Grenadier has more ground clearance than the D1 in the picture. My guess is these steps/sliders were hanging down pretty low.

Just looks that way in the image, he had just over half the clearance. Lots of lower hanging bits, in the back as well. Pretty well protected, but lots of banging around under there. Props for a willingness to wheel an 80k plus truck he has had for about a year. He has a defender that is getting an engine swap, hence he drove the Ineos.

I found that the gas tank skidplate tends to bang on the rocks more than the diffs or even front and rear skidplates. Probably need to take mine off and pound it straight (and add 1/4" aluminum plate to the bottom of it).
