inlet manifold torque spec

I am about to embark on two head gasket jobs. One is a '97 D1, the other an '01 P38 Bosch.

For inlet manifold bolt torque spec RAVE indicates...
1997 D1 GEMS - 38Nm (28 ft-lb) (chapter 19 page 16)
2001 P38 Bosch - 50Nm (38 ft-lb) (chapter 30 page 19)

Does that sound correct? Why significantly different specs on each?
