I got the parts for the inline thermostat conversion. I was going to do it tomorrow, but tonight I have been looking at the current setup. But, my 2001 D2 does not have the same setup as the picture between #'s 3 and 4 (on the right side) here: http://www.landroverforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=32216&page=2. It does not have 2 outlets from the water pump as in the picture. It has the setup seen here http://www.roversnorth.com/store/c-396-cooling-heating.aspx. I have: Hose from radiator to bottom of thermostat. Hose from Water pump to top of plastic thermostat. Hose from top raditor setup to top/side of plastic thermostat. THE HOSE from the the water pump to plastic thermostat has 2 hoses molded (coolant expansion and heater core) to it.

I understand the top setup and converting that part with the tstat. Now, since I do not have the same setup I see in the pictures above (pictures 3-6), will this work for the radiator to water pump hose (with the heater core and expansion tank hoses molded in): Remove the thermostat. Connect the hose from the radiator (currently connected to bottom of tstat) directly to the hose from the water pump (currently connected to the top of plastic tstat)?

Any issues here? Any issue with the hose looking like an inverted "V"- with gravity when cooling.

No problems overheating, but its my opinion that the inline thermostat would help to prevent a lot of potential cooling/engine issues.

Thanks for the help.
