Installing heated windscreen

My windshield is cracked and I need to have a new one in stalled. I would like to "upgrade" to the heated one, since my truck did not have this from the factory. I looked under the hood and saw two ports (one on each end) that I believe are wired for the heated windscreen. So I am wondering, are these for the heated windscreen? If so, do I just need to install the switch in the dash? How hard is that?

Any info would be much appreciated. I have an 04 Disco.

From what I understand, the heated windscreen is similar to the heated seats in that the wiring is present, you just add the switch and windscreen. If I remember correctly though, the heated version is hella expensive though ~$500.

Michael- Did you ever get your heated windscreen working? I noticed my S is prewired also and would like to know if the heated windscreen is a possibility in case something happens to the one in there now.

I did it for my 02 Disco II SD last year (make sure your windscreen had heated). Just buy a switch and relay (ask questions with Roverconnection.com for part#, I forgot...). Hook up by dealer when service, it's free for me last time. It's great!!!

Excellent. I have the heated windshield on my other Rover and love it. I'm sure at some point I'll get a busted windshield- I'm on the third on the other truck.
