installing passenger side window.

Howdy,

My rover had its passenger side window smashed out (and then pillaged), I was wondering how hard it is to do the work of putting in a new window my self?

I replaced the passenger side window on my 1991 RRC when it was broken into. It was not so hard it took about 1 hour to do, my wife gave me hand. Get a used window and take out the window frame from the door. You will need a copy of the manual to do it right.

I've done the driver side regulator a few times and I can't imagine it being too difficult to do the window glass. Follow shop manual for removing the trim/panel pieces and take a look . Source the glass @ junkyard or check classifieds on this site.

You will be able to do it. Shouldn't take you too long. Sorry about your break-in.

Just disconnect the frame, drop in the window and tighten bolts. Now, put it back together and wish you had more of the red clips hanging around.

Be patient with the vapor barrier - It's too easy to want to cut it out with a knife. Peel it away at the top, roll it back on itself as you peel it down and it'll keep itself all tidy hanging on the bottom while you work. then roll it out and stick it back on

And get a panel popper before you even begin.
