Anyone have any good sources for insurance? Just got a quote from Geico for my '82 for $204/6 months for comprehensive.
I know it'll vary state to state, but perhaps there are companies out there that know what a Series Rover is and charges appropriately. Or perhaps I don't want one that charges appropriately.

TIA,
Rohan.

USAA, hobby car insurance, 220 or so a year. I voted against getting comprehensive on it. I think they said we could get agreed upon values and cover it with comprehensive that way, but I really didn't see the point. the most important part of it is the $2/mo for towing and labor. :)

Get an antique auto trader, it will have some options on antique automobile ins. I had it on a vintage VW I built. You usually have a mileage limit, you cant drive it to and from work and it must be kept in a garage. Mine was full coverage, 0 deductable, 200 or so a year.

and in some cases you can only drive it in very limited circumstances so I go a different route

although I have Antique registration for the 109, I carry typical insurance with a high deduct and with the multiple discounts like good driver, old fart, etc., it is decently priced with Geico.

I like driving the 109 so I want insurance without the Antique limitations.

Thanks to all for your input. I certainly don't want to be restricted on when and how much I can drive my car so that's a pretty big deal. Actually currently have Geico and their comprehensive coverage costs $12 more per 6 months than liability only. Go figure.
Thanks again.
