That site is pretty interesting. Did you all read the article called "$646,214 Per Government Job"? Its pretty interesting. Has anyone read about what is actually in this "stimulus" plan? Its pretty sickening and quite counterproductive in my humble opinion. I actually wrote my 2 senators (Boxer and Feinstein) and Harry Reid but Im pretty sure it fell in front of blind eyes. On that note I found a fitting quote on the quotes of the day:

"The government consists of a gang of men exactly like you and me. They have, taking one with another, no special talent for the business of government; they have only a talent for getting and holding office."
- H. L. Mencken

Lower tax rates and a reduction in the burden of government?

Blasphemy! The gov't is the only answer!

Regarless whether you agree with the plan or not, what's so silly about such ads is that you could find just as many economists who think the plan will do wonders. Anyone who decides one way or the other based on a list of signatures is an idoit.

Sure, you can find a list each way..... but, the point is, given a list of economics professors opposing such, Mr. Obama's statement that "there is no disagreement" is false.

Don't make up your mind because of the list, simply understand that there's not a consensus on what works, don't be a lemming, take a look at it and decide for yourself.

A good read on the stimulus package disaster . . . . the last paragraph is critical to understanding where we are headed if we continue down this path.

Where Nations Go to Die
You say “stimulus,” I hear “syphilis.”

By Mark Steyn

Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House, is on TV explaining the (at this point the congregation shall fall to its knees and prostrate itself) “stimulus.” “How,” asks the lady from CBS, “does $335 million in STD prevention stimulate the economy?”

“I’ll tell you how,” says Speaker Pelosi. “I’m a big believer in prevention. And we have, er, there is a part of the bill on the House side that is about prevention. It’s about it being less expensive to the states to do these measures.” . . . .

. . . .

The more interviews Speaker Pelosi gives explaining how vital the STD industry is to restarting the U.S. economy, the more I find myself hearing “syphilis” every time she says “stimulus.” . . . .

There probably isn't. From the people he asked.

I think I disagree with you Tom. It is not just signatures, but who these signatures represent. Everyday people make decisions based on the words or beliefs of others that are more experienced in a particular field. When you are face with a medical decision where you have no experiance or knowlendge you will lean twords the advice of a specialized doctor or a nurse. For a tax issue you woul head the warning of a CPA or a bookie. If it came to a cross axled hairy mud hole Bill Burke or me ?
I only thought it was interesting because up until now the only people I have heard speaking heavely for it are the politicians.

read up on the CATO Institute, it bears understanding what a think tank anchors its concepts to when reviewing this stuff.

I wish they could pass one bill in congress without additional riders attached.

Chcuk I'm not sure I follow.
So this leaves an organization like CATO with out credit, but is OK for organizations like UNIONS ?
