VERY interesting concept... We'll never see it though. They had better sell it with halfway decent tires, otherwise it'll cost a ruddy fortune to upgrade 'em! :p

I think it is great looking and would buy one if it was just the front with four wheels and a nice trayback.

Not a new concept. Military had the M561 Gama Goat in the sixties.

Being this one is from Mercedes and not a 1950's design, I'm sure it would be a heckuva lot nicer.

I've driven a Gama Goat off-road. They are pretty capable vehicles.

They must ride smooth, that guy on the left is having a nice nap!

Gama goats were pretty rough riding like a lot of military vehicles. The prime complaint from operators was the noise. 2-stroke diesel engine was extremely loud. Many a GI lost hearing to a gama goat instead of the Stones.

They were also maintenance intensive. They were considered amphibious, but would have been better suited for the submarine service.

Me, too. You're right, they were very capable. We used them in Korea in the mid-70's. Very loud. They were 3 cylinders IIRC.

Gamma Goat sounds like a post-apocalyptic animal in a Chernobil type setting....shooting death laser rays out of its eyes and hopping around the already scorched, barren terrain of a remote planet, years from now.....
