What is the popular way to play your music from an iPhone or iPod through the factory head unit? I have an '03 DII with the midline alpine system with a 6 disc changer under the passenger seat.

I have searched this topic and have not found anything thatade me feel completely satisfied and ready to start the project...

as far as from your laptop to pc goes, which is how i listen to alot of my music since its all in my ipod which is backed up to my macbook pro

apple makes something called airport express, works with windows laptops too, but easy as pie to setup on a mac, like 2 or 3 more cliclks on Wintel

plug it into a wall, it sits as a client on your wifi, stream music from your laptop's itunes to your stereo over wifi..its pretty good, no wires

I just got it this week and its a god send, now I just use my ipod for car and bike use

The GROM setup is the way to go. The newest version will allow an iPhone to be charged. I have the older version which allows music playback from the iPhone, but doesn't charge it. It does charge my 80GB iPod and retains the steering wheel controls. The unit on AB costs more, doesn't charge and doesn't use the steering wheel controls. The install goes quicker if you have the CD player already. I just taped the GROM interface wire to the existing one for the CD and used it to pull through the glovebox to the back of the head unit. Get the radio pullers from AB and the job should only take ~45 minutes.

Hey Guys,

I would like to look more into the GROM option. I don't see the Discovery listed in the car selection. Which do we purchase to assure compatability?
