fwiw, my wife has an iPhone and i have a Blackberry Bold. I much prefer the Blackberry.

She's into downloading American Idol songs, cute ringtones, and is thrilled to see a picture of the person calling appear on her screen.

I have a job.

Trevor.. Trevor.. Trevor *LOL*

All I can say about the iPhone and ATT... WHAT A POS

The phone will freeze on you often. The apps yeah cool gadgets .. the only one I like is the Point of Sale, you can charge Credit Cards.. but RoverLab doesn't like Credit Cards *LOL*

ATT service it is not the best on Rural Areas, last year at MAR I couldn't get signal anywhere in the area ( hotel, Restaurant , etc ) with my iPhone, however I was able to use my laptop and internet phone through verizon.

If you want a reliable phone with similar Capabilities go to Verizon,
One being the Blackberry Storm, the other I don't know the name but looks like an iphone.

When I see you next week, you can play with my iPhone.

I have an iPhone, and I love it. It has its limitations and flaws, mainly battery power, but having a car hook-up will easily solve that problem. ATT's service leaves some things to be desired, but remember that it is always growing, and that you can USUALLY piggyback on another carrier's signal in far-out areas with roaming.

Music and movies anywhere you go, and a TON of legitimately awesome software, such as "units" an AMAZING units converter, everything from energy, distance, torque, even currency, you name it. 99¢. G-Map, a good GPS program for it, with maps downloaded to the hard-drive. Nice when you're someplace you have no signal, the the middle of no-where. Also a great app, "Stanza", lets you read books on your iphone. Great for travelling, no more lugging around a big clunky book or two on your trip! I read on my phone while I'm in the john at work.

Music and more anywhere you are. Simply awesome.

i broke my iphone after having it for a year and a half. got a cheap touch screen LG phone and i'm still adjusting to it. it has been two months. the weight of the iphone and feel in your hand is second to none. typing with one thumb is VERY easy. you don't even have to hit the right letters, just around the ones you're using to spell a word and the iphone will usually guess what you meant correctly. it learns the words you use and how your type. very cool. i used aps alot, but then just pretty much used phone/texting/internet after a while. i felt it made me too dependent upon the internet, however. having weather updates and google maps especially was a life saver on numerous accounts.

Blackberry storm is alright, it does some cool stuff, but the touch screen annoys me cause you have to press it.. In my opinion, no other touch screen on the market is as good as the iPhone. My bro and sis have touch screen Verizon phones and their touch screen annoys them, they wish they had an iPhone...... As far as reception goes, I would say Verizon is better, but somtimes I have service when a Verizon person has nothing..... That's just cell phones.

If you are thinking for more of a business phone and are wanting functionality, size, power, and durability, then get the Blackberry or IMO the Treo. If it is more for leisure then get the Iphone or if you have TMobile then hands down the G-phone (google's phone). I am not saying Iphone can't do all of the business things, but why have all the bells and whistles if you don't plan on using them that much, the BB can do all of the impt things. The Iphone and G-phone are about the same damn thing, there are plenty of articles that explain their differences, but IMO they are both badass. All of my friends including myself have all recently gotten these types of phones ranging from blackberry, blackberry pearl, Iphone, blackberry storm, the Bold or Behold or whatever the hell it is, and my girlfriend is checking out the G-phone. Everyone one of the people that have anything but the Iphone will tell you that if it wasn't for the SP they would have gotten the Iphone.

The only things I do not like about it is the fact that you can't text sideways like you can when you type on the web, you can't send pictures via picturemail you have to send it via email, no video camera, and the 3G isn't that "large." I drop calls and only get 3G in big cities and usually won't even pick up the Edge network at home in KY, but its nice in a college town because everyone has WiFi and most restaurants and places of that nature will let you use it. I also don't like that if a site is using a plugin or java or something of that nature then you can't view the site due to the inability to DL the program. However, there is supposed to be a software and a hardware update sometime this summer, so if you are on the fence about getting one then you might want to wait and see what the new one will look like and if you have the 3G iphone the you will be able to get the software/data update for free. I have heard that you will be able to send pictures via picturemail, text sideways, video conferencing, and a lot of other things. Another little thing they neglect to advertise is the warranty policy. You have a 90 limited warranty on the iphone along with apple tech support (since apple is the only people that can give you tech support, not your phone store) After that 90 days it costs you something like $50+ just to call apple and ask them a question, much less if anything has to be fixed. You CAN buy an ext warranty anytime within the first 90 days for 70$ that extends the phone warranty and tech support to 2 yrs I believe, but don't quote me on any of that.

Yes the battery life is not great, but I was used to charging every phone I have ever had everynight so that hasn't bothered me. It has frozen on me before but you can reset it quickly, keep in mind its a freaking computer so sometimes it will freeze. If you get one you will get frustrated sometimes but if you catch yourself without the Iphone (or BB, treo, gphone, storm, etc) you will wonder how you did without it.

ps. call an apple store and tell them what type of email server your company uses and they will be able to tell you, or I am sure it can be found on google.

I think that you are talking about the Samsung Omnia i910. That's what I have and I like it. Although, I've hacked it with a beta rom so that the GPS works and I'm also using the touch software interface of the HTC Touch on it.. I like Windows Mobile becuase you can hack it and customize things better then Blackberrys and the Iphone.

Trevor, you might want to just keep your current phone and go look at the Verizon Netbook that they are now selling..

It's not a full blown laptop but, it may fit the bill for what you are looking for, plus it's the same $199 up front price as the 8gb Iphone..

That's exactly the one ( after your post I looked it up on Verizon's Website ).

I hacked my iPhone twice, trying other carriers, but then a pain in the ass with the apps updates, and restoring, update, hack was getting too much.

I like the windows with the tething hack ( I am not capable of doing it but seen it at work... nice )

Palm Pre Sets The New High Bar for Smartphones
Rob Enderle Jun 4, 2009

I've been playing with the Palm Pre for about a full day now and it is an impressive phone. In many ways, it is as if Palm is giving the single finger salute to Apple with a product by quite literally rubbing Apple's face in the things that should have been in the iPhone but weren't. Neither phone is truly enterprise ready, but that hasn't slowed the iPhone down that much. And while I expect the Palm Pre, due to its Treo roots, will move faster here (and starts out ahead), I wonder if it matters. Right now, this is the hottest market segment going. Here are my impressions of the phone that is so much better than the current iPhone. .......
